Parrot cay all inclusive -forget about everything
Yes, this is the exclusive island resort where Ben Affleck married Jennifer Garner and Bruce Willis owns a home. But it's also a pretty wonderful place to completely unwind and de-stress, whether you're stretched out on the secluded beach or thrilling to a treatment by a Balinese masseuse at the world-class COMO Shambhala spa. This private paradise -- a favorite for celebrities and aspiring ones -- comes with all the trimmings you'd expect for the substantial price. Elaborate oceanfront villas border the island, and their wooden, Far Eastern feel contrasts with the rather bland hillside terra-cotta and stucco building that houses the spacious suites. Suite and villa interiors are a minimalist and sumptuous mix of cool-white interiors, Indonesian furnishings, and four-poster beds. The villas are the ultimate indulgence, with heated lap-edge pools, hot tubs, and butler service. The resort's main pool is surrounded by a round, thatched bar and the Asian-inspired Lotus restaurant. The giant Como Shambhala Spa takes destination spas to a whole new level with Indonesian and Balinese therapists. If you have traveled far, Shambhala's own jetlag tea will put the zing back in your ying. If you wish to splash out in Parrot style without remortgaging your home, look out for special three- to five-night packages in the off-season. Along with massages and therapies, the resort's Como Shambhala spa lays on two Dr Perricone "age-defying facials", olive oil and vitamin C. To tackle from within what these can only achieve on the surface, Parrot Cay's chefs will also feed you Dr Perricone's 3-Day Nutritional Face Lift, a diet of salmon three times a day for three days, plus salad, steamed vegetables and seasonal berries, washed down with mineral water and green tea. The ambience is perfectly lovely, but strangely SouthEast Asian, on account of all the Indonesian vases and massages, Javanese baths, Singaporean landscaping and Balinese and Thai therapists. The karma is so calm it's almost spooky. With nothing to furrow the brow, Dr P's programme is almost superfluous, though the sight of salmon for breakfast on the third morning could provoke a moue.
